Description
Restaurant run by the Sri Lankan Navy. 50 persons Fine Dining area, Family Dining area with 20 covers, and Food Court serving 100 covers. The restaurant opened in July 2011, and has recently been enhanced with more items on the menu, and more publicity. It is open to the public, and serves many Sri Lankan dining favourites such as rice and curry, Sri Lankan Chinese and some pub style food too.

Light House Galley
This restaurant is located in the Galle Face Green closer to Presidential Secretariat round-about take the Marine Drive leading to Colombo Harbour, Navy Headquarters known as Chaithya Road. It is right in front of Colombo Light House. Only 200m from roundabout.
Environment
Good place, This restaurant is located in a great environment, just opposite to the gale face light house tower, and offers out-door dining option too. Good hygiene. but out-door can be bit dusty because of the road and wind from the sea. Has wifi and TV indoor. The place is very clean and quite.
Service
The staffs are very friendly, prompt and always around you (expect the busy hours), and staffs seems to be happy on what they are doing. by the way we often catch them looking at TV dramas :P but we noticed dat some new staffs don't even know much about the items on the menu. and now a days foods takes long time to be delivered! On some days it takes more than 30min - 1hr for the food to be delivered to the table!
Food
The food taste is good, although we haven't tried any non-veg items on the menu yet, but don't expect the food taste to remain same all the time. We noticed that on busy schedules the food taste changes! They offer some good variety of liquors too. We tried their Lime juice and it was great compared to other places!
Value For Money
The food portions are good value for money, but the prices are bit higher compared to other places.
Income from the restaurant goes to rehabilitate wounded soldiers and for other charities of the armed forces. In the light of the above, there is no review here - please do patronise the restaurant if you can. You should call on the day of your intended visit around 12 noon, as it is very popular for functions such as parties and weddings, on which days it is CLOSED to the public.
Overall
Awesome place, one of my favorite! I go almost every week here. But beware it will be closed for public when there is a event or party is going on! The Lighthouse Galley restaurant is very special because the Navy owns it! Always call them and reserve the table before going!
Also if you don't have a own vehicle you may have to walk back to the Presidential Secretariat round-about. Because you can't get a taxi in that area unless you are lucky! We always walked back to the junction to get a taxi but we liked it.
Everything was fine except for the fact that it took longer than 1 hour to prepare the food and even for the juices... and we had to starve. Good place to go but it will be great if they could be more quick.
Great place. I recommend Lighthouse Galley for classy people who don't want their wallets emptied.
It is a restaurant run by the Sri Lanka Navy.I have been there for several time. For lunch with my partner... Dinner out with School mates and wedding function of my college. Prices are very reasonable. Very good atmosphere for dine-in. Service is very much appreciated. Staff is very much friendly and around with customers all the time.
The food and the service was excellent. My family had a great time and looking forward to visit again>
good if they could increase the wine selection. The serving staff is getting better need to get out of the military background. Rest is good and have improved.

seriously an amazing restaurant i have been ever. More than food and services, the environment is really good. the food was nice. staffs were so friendly. they suggested some good dishes to try. but always reserve your seat before you visit there. its always crowded, sometimes you may have to wait too long to get a seat.
This is a good place! I regularly visit this place with friends and family.
I liked the environment, and how friendly the staffs are. No wonder its owned by Navy! Price range is bit high, but not bad for the portions size and quality of food.
