The Mango Tree
Known for it's Authentic Indian Cuisine and presently the most famous Indian restaurant in Sri Lanka, The Mango Tree holds the title for the perfect Indian meal. Currently situated in Cinnamon Gardens, The Mango Tree is designed to fit the Sri Lankan culture, especially for it's array of spices used. Running for over 9 years, the restaurant has now expanded it's outlets which are available in food courts and has also begun a new venture called the Jack Tree. The Mango Tree continually tries to hold it's standards to gain satisfaction from their work.
Environment
Experience the essence of India with one step by entering the doors of The Mango Tree. As it is designed to be a family restaurant, the surrounding is of bright colors which include yellow and orange ideally to symbolize India. Despite the colors being warm, The Mango Tree is fully Air-Conditioned and offers after sale services like Delivery. As of recent, the restaurant now favors a Bar and Wine menu too!
Service
The staff fail to achieve certain mannerisms. They also can be impatient when advised to fill orders and sometimes are illiterate. Occasionally, the food is not served hot as well.
Food
Although the food remains oily, and not a fairly healthy diet, the meals continue to stay appetizing and tasteful. Nevertheless, The Mango Tree is always remembered for it's rich flavors and its wide selection of food.
Value For Money
Some of the dishes are overpriced. However, in order to get a delicious meal from a fancy restaurant, it may be worth the deal indeed!
Overall
A good feed for a family dinner with a lively atmosphere and a glimpse of India. A MUST TRY!

best place to have some authentic indian food try their naans and biriyani bit expensive but that does not care

We had a dinner at this restaurant , the food which they served it was not authentic ,and service was very poor ,served food in a chip plate ,the overall visit was disappointment.

I need to know if the mango tree serves Halal food. Would appreciate a reply. Thanks

If you are looking for good Indian food in Colombo then this is the only place you will end in exploring. Do put your requirements upfront while ordering. You have drink option even. Believe me i have explored Colombo for good tasty food since last 2 years, i can only suggest for this restaurant. It is expensive but its worth to spend money while it pay backs to you with such satisfied food. Dont forget to conclude your meals with some dessert.

Still some of the best Indian Food in Sri Lanka.... and quality has remained consistent over the years.

This restaurant is located just close to my office, I used to be there with friends from different countries who like to have an Indian taste. Food is tasty, bit expensive comparing any other decent restaurants. Service is good, bit crowded as always there are people. Over all not bad - Four Star.

when we visited last month - not half as good as it used to be. Food tasted all the same. no variation or flavour. hope they get back to what they were.
The food is very rich and delicious though i wouldn't call it healthy. The Paneer and Chicken Masala are easily the best in the country. The dishes are severely over-priced but it is to be expected of a restaurant as conveniently located with as brilliant food as this.
The food is very delicious. The restaurant looks a really high class Indian restaurant with modern looking furniture. The water closets are very clean. There is a high problem in parking. They need to find another parking area. The walls are little dirty and can do with a paint job. There is also a waiting area for people who are waiting for a table. The stewards are dressed in shirt and tie. It is one of my favourite Indian restaurants.
